IDeas?

Hello! It has been a while. How is everyone doing? So was thinking that we should get this summer portion of the project launched. Shall we do some brainstorming and writing to see where we are headed exactly? Perhaps we can turn this into a project studying whatever aspect of the Vietnamese American experience that interests us at the moment. For instance, Youme and Hai wish to learn Vietnamese this summer. Perhaps you two can blog about your encounters with the language experience and the dualism of learning to be bilingual/multilingual? As for my part...I am beginning to think I want to continue reading more research.

So what does everyone think? It'll be a shame for this project to simply ween out and die obscurely.

  1. I spoke with R.L. from class who suggested (besides being busy with finals) students may feel that they already gave their comments in class, and therefore needn't leave a message here. I was just thinking of posting notes from there comments with initials rather than names, and remembered that you already have them typed up-and i probably have the copy you sent me. No chance of the project dying obscurely. I think the big question is what does everyone want out of a next step? R.L. has a copy of the student shorts from this years Asian American Film fest- It might be helpful for us to get together and watch those? Hai has to go to Indiana next week, I will be in town. I have a book for you and your nephew. Maybe we can have our wrap-up DimSum before he goes? After that I expect to be in New York until the end of May. In the mean time I will try to answer my own question. Still looking forward to feedback from those we haven't heard yet. On the tech. side we do need to print out and sign release forms. Also I know the folks at ATG http://www.againstthegrainproductions.com/index.php are interested in seeing it. They have grants for artists. All ideas welcome.
